It is free, it is open source. And Apple Compressor as of Version 2 supports command line-rendering. Any idea if it would be possible to run some 20 old pentium2 or pentium3 machines with intel-OSX (osx86) and have a distributed MPEG2 rendering? Yellow told me that that’s not possible with such codecs, as they are “not really frame-per-frame based”. Hmmm…
